2/365 True Your Wheelness Spokes
Truing a wheel requires a lot of minor spoke adjustments-as do our lives. Print a copy of the wheel to
use as a tool for planning your next steps for wellness. Write your next steps down. As I continually true my wellness-consider:
BELIEVING- This world is much bigger than only a one way consumption of it. What do I believe about this world and my creation. What is my belief in self and others. What is my purpose? How am I to be used in this life for a greater good. This spoke is an easy one to put off until “later”. Spend time here daily. This is when my heart mind and soul communicate as one. I look in this area for my “WHY”.
LEARNING-What do I need to learn about myself: lab numbers, weight, new recipes or details about an illness? Is there a book, video or professional support group that will help me?
LOVING-How am I nurturing my relationships? Am I adequately caring for self and for my partner, children, parents, family, friends, community and the world I touch? Am I receiving love?
EATING-What is coming into my body that isn’t in my best health interests? Can I add more diversity to my food choices? Am I savoring my meals? Are comfort foods a sign of other needs or addictions?
CREATING-Am I working with my emotions and senses with tools for creative expression? Should I break out that old project of scrapbooking, paints, wood, spices, dancing shoes, clarinet, …?
What will it take to start a new mode of expression?
MOVING- Am I able to get 30+ minutes of aerobics in each day. Have I gotten away from my resistance training (weights), balance and flexibility training? Do I need to get clearance from my medical providers?
RENEWING-How’s my sleep, 7-9 hours? Do I need a nutritional detox or a fast. A professional intervention? Does my GI tract need healing and better microbes? Do I need more time in a green space, mindful meditation, or prayer?
– Listen to and act on your wellness needs. What are those closest to you telling you. What should you be telling others?

Even when walking together, we will not be in each others shoes. Read the book Man’s Search for Meaning, all we have is our ability to make a choice of response to our conditions. We can choose now to be actively engaged as the owner of this life or submissively resolved to be the victim. Which are you choosing?
