“I’ll take a double slider, fries and a diet.”
Lunch-Two plus years and 70 pounds ago.
I was holding at about 240lbs for years, going to the YMCA with aching knees. I ate a couple of fruits and vegetables most days. Blood pressure and lipids were up, and my MD wanted me to
add some meds.
I’m walking the elephant into the room.
I don’t believe a couple of minor lifestyle adjustments will transform lives.
Tread water maybe. Forces on our lives are too interrelated.
I don’t mean we need to make our life perfect at once.
We do need to chew on the whole thing every day. Paying attention to all of our “spokes” and the feedback (positive and negative) provided. The energy of our efforts is either carrying us downstream (surviving) or upstream (thriving). These are two different things. The direction of life rotation can be described by:
Surviving- “I’m doing as well as expected, given this, that and the other.”
Thriving – “I am doing better every day.”
The destination is different for all.
I will continue “Wheeling” my plate of elephant to this site to share my personal strategies.
Take a seat at your wellness table and start chewing.
